Update: Fall 2022

Wow, it’s been a long time since I have written an update here. For the record, the reports of my retirement from KFCUSA are 100% false!

In 2015 God clearly directed me, “There is a shift coming, get ready for it.” I thought I was open to God’s shift, but didn’t know what it meant. Never dreamed that I would go through a Strep Group C infection that put me in a hospital for 11 days, but also left me on my back for 15 weeks. It was a great way to lose weight, (I went from 225-193 in the hospital.) led to six years of chronic pain, an odd mental shift, two knee replacements, and ultimately made me more obnoxious and tenacious than ever. In the end, I still didn’t know what the shift was.

So much life and ministry effecting situations have transpired in the last few years. BC (before covid) I never thought there would be anything that could put KFCUSA on pause. Suddenly no adults that were not “staff” were allowed in the schools nationwide. Then last year (2021/2022) large groups could not meet on most school campuses. Clearly all our teams and I could do was wait.  Now here’s the deal God has elevated my prayer life like never before and drawn me to him in a significant way.

Currently we could do clubs in the schools, (FINALLY!) However as a result of the spirit of fear disguised as Covid all of student/parent sponsors have aged up. This leaves us in a place of completely starting over. When we began in 2001, I was a parent of three young boys and was able to sponsor a club in my sons school. When 911 happened later that year this “thing” mushroomed into 18 schools in one school year. God’s hand was on it and the growth continued every year until 2020. In order to kick start a new beginning clearly will take the hand of God.

The logistics currently are this: Legally our team would have to be invited by a parent or Student to help them start a club. I personally don’t feel led to chase down new Parent and Student Sponsors - They will have to contact me, but I would love to help. I’ve spent most of my adult life reaching churched and un-churched kids in the public schools and this current crazy political climate is not a time to stop. I am here to help, give me a call.—Bob Heath, Founder/Director KFCUSA
